DESCRIPTION:
Originally produced in early 2023, HER is touring Edinburgh secondary schools for a second time this Autumn. The production has been supported by Thrive Edinburgh. HER was commissioned by Strange Town as part of their commitment to touring new plays to young audiences and giving opportunities to emerging actors.
HER is a play about the damaging effects of gender inequality, the truth about consent and asks, how can you be the change you want to see in the world, when you feel like the world is fighting against you?
*Trigger warning* – this play deals with themes of sexual harassment and assault.
Question at the heart of the play: How can you be the change you want to see in the world, when you feel like the world is fighting against you?
To show we want to live in a world where:
– Consent matters
– women are believed, not victimised
– inequality is stamped out
– misogyny and sexism are challenged
We are looking for a Stage Manager (on the book) who will oversee rehearsals, update the existing book where necessary, operate the show, assist in the ins/outs of venues, setting up (sound/LX/AV) and will be the allocated van driver for the tour. A driving licence is essential for this role.
To apply, or for further information, please send a CV to touring@strangetown.org.uk by 8th August. Interviews will be conducted during the week commencing 12th August.
