This page sets out the details of Strange Town’s privacy policy. This lays out the information we collect from our participants, audiences and visitors to our website, how we use it and how we keep it safe.

Strange Town will review and may update this policy annually by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from May 2018.

Types of personal data collected:

The data we collect may be personal data and may include your name, email address, postal address, date of birth and interests.

 

Strange Town Booking Forms:

These are handed out to any one signing up to one of our activities, as well as the information above this may ask for additional information:

Relevant medical information, this is shared with group leader for the young persons’ safety and to ensure we support them in the best way we can.

For Youth Theatre groups: The name of your school; we need this for applying to the council for a performance licence.

 

How personal data is collected:

We collect the personal data that you may volunteer via: sign-up/booking forms, website information submission forms, surveys and booking tickets.

 

Purposes for which data is processed:

The personal data collected will be used by us for the following purposes:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • To keep you informed about the activity you have signed up for
  • To send you promotional or marketing information which we think you may find interesting
  • For market research purposes.

 

Mailing list:

If you choose to sign up to our mailing list, we will record your name and e-mail address. We use MailChimp to store our email lists and create our newsletters. You will be sent emails from Strange Town letting you know what we have coming up. Every e-mail will have an unsubscribe link and you are welcome to unsubscribe whenever you want. Feedback forms:

If you complete an online or paper feedback form, your responses are collated for reporting purposes and shared internally within Strange Town. We use your feedback to help us understand our participants and audiences, to inform us how our work was received and to report on to our main funding bodies. If you have provided personal details (eg. email address) along with a feedback form, online or paper, they are not linked to your responses, which remain entirely anonymous.

 

Website cookies:

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other visitors. Most web browsers allow some control of cookies through browser settings. We use cookies to keep track of what pages you browse on our website, this helps us understand how people use our site. If you do not wish to enable cookies, you will still be able to browse the site with the exception of the agency log in section. The information below lets you know what cookies our sites use and what they are.

 

Google analytics:

Our website uses Google Analytics to track the visits to our website and give us aggregated data. This data helps us analyse what parts of the website are most accessed and read. We have a Facebook page. Partners and funders data disclosure:

Occasionally we will share anonymised data with our partners and other organisations for example to support funding applications. This data will never include participants names.

 

Security:

We do not give you the option of using a secure transmission method to send us your personal data. We have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from :

  • Unauthorised access
  • Improper use or disclosure
  • Unauthorised modification.

All our employees and data processors, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of all our personal data.

 

Lawful basis for retaining data:

Our lawful basis for retaining the data described above is constituted by ‘Legitimate Interest’. If this lawful basis were to drastically change or for the way we use your data to purposefully change we may need to contact you to make you aware of this. Rights for access to personal data:

You can ask us if we are keeping any personal data about you and you can also request to receive a copy of that personal data. For such requests, please contact admin@strangetown.org.uk. At any time you may request that we delete or correct your personal information. To unsubscribe from our mailing list please use the unsubscribe link contained within the e-newsletter or email admin@strangetown.org.uk

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible, at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
